The Global Threat of Avian Infectious Bronchitis: Precision Strategies Against the Taiwanese Strain

On the global frontlines of avian disease prevention and control, Infectious Bronchitis (IB) remains one of the most persistent and challenging threats to manage. From the frequent outbreaks in the United States to the rapid spread of the Taiwan-type (TW-type) strains in China, IB has become a core concern for international disease control systems.

This presentation will begin with a global overview of IB trends, followed by an in-depth analysis of the dual-strain vaccine strategy targeting TW-I and TW-II. Drawing on field data and practical experience, it will explain why there is virtually no cross-protection between different serotypes, and highlight the critical importance of precise vaccine selection in combating the currently circulating Taiwanese strains.

The goal is to help industry stakeholders redesign their IB prevention strategies—from risk management and vaccine pairing to maximizing field-level protection—ultimately achieving a comprehensive upgrade in biosecurity across poultry operations.
