The Fisheries Research Institute (FRI) has developed an innovative digital, automated pathogen monitoring system. This system's technology has been successfully transferred to and intelligently implemented by industry partners for managing indoor white shrimp aquaculture at our Marine Aquaculture Research Center. Leveraging the Internet of Things (IoT), sophisticated feedback control mechanisms, and advanced big data analytics, this initiative substantially enhances aquaculture operational efficiency, establishing a modern aquaculture model characterized by high efficiency, security, and sustainability. The system, a product of FRI's collaboration with industry, enables automated real-time monitoring of critical water quality parameters and pathogen presence. It performs dynamic water quality management and integrates intelligent feeding protocols with image recognition for optimized feed delivery. Furthermore, through cloud-based integrated management via data dashboards, it has demonstrably reduced reliance on manual labor and significantly improved production consistency, marking a pivotal breakthrough for the aquaculture sector. This advancement not only strengthens the competitiveness of Taiwan's domestic white shrimp aquaculture but is also set to propel the global development and adoption of intelligent aquaculture technologies.
